DAC Meet Notetaker — Internal Google Meet AI Notetaker & Firm Context Hub
An internal Granola/Otter-style system for Dark Alpha Capital: firm users connect Google Calendar, a bot joins Meet calls ~5 minutes early, and the system centralizes recordings, attendance, and meeting context for teams and future AI.
Project description
DAC Meet Notetaker is internal systems tooling for Dark Alpha Capital — a remote-first firm where most collaboration happens on Google Meet. Instead of relying on third-party products like Granola or Otter, the firm is building a personalized, self-hosted equivalent that owns the data end-to-end.
Problem
Remote teams lose institutional memory across calls: who attended, what was decided, what was promised, and where the recording lives. Third-party notetakers help, but they hold sensitive firm context outside the company's control and aren't tailored to internal workflows or future AI systems.
Solution
Firm users sign in with their Google account and grant calendar access. The system syncs Meet-linked events, schedules a bot run, and ~5 minutes before start spins up an isolated Chromium container that asks to join the call. Once admitted by the host, the bot captures the session (recording and meeting structure). Artifacts are stored in firm-controlled storage (Nextcloud) with metadata in Cloudflare D1 — a single source of truth for teams today and context for AI systems tomorrow.
Why build in-house
Full ownership of recordings and transcripts
Customization for Dark Alpha Capital workflows
Tighter integration with internal tools
A long-term firm context base without shipping meeting IP to external SaaS
